Comic archives

I've gotten a couple people sending some feedback about the comic archives not presenting the comics in a format that is easy to read.  The galleries use this 'lightbox' technique to make the images a bit easier to navigate, but I can see how if you were dealing with a laptop that didn't have too much vertical real-estate, they might be a bit tricky to read.

Let me know in a comment if they are really not legible.  I'd hate to be making archives available but in a format that isn't browse-able.  I might be able to work out a solution to it.

I might post some more experimental stuff I've been working on to the site over the weekend.  I was playing around a bit with some 3D software over the last year, and I was getting some interesting results from it that people that like this comic might be interested in seeing.

Still tweakin'

You might still be noticing the occasional weirdness happen between page loads.  That's because I'm messing with the CSS of the site and trying to get things to look right, and I don't really have a "staging site" to work with before I go into production.

Don't worry though, I won't let something that looks horrid or blocking visibility of the site last for more than a few minutes.

Sometimes, it's the most simple things that are the most complex problems.

Like, for instance, the fact that all my character templates are currently stored as Adobe Illustrator 10 files... and if I upgrade to the latest version of OS X, that particular application will no longer work.

Okay, maybe a complete operating system upgrade isn't a simple thing, but it is definitely qualifies as a ground-zero issue.  I'm just waiting for the day when Apple finally finds a way to make 'updating' an obsolete concept.  Google is welcome to try helping with that too - I'm not religous.

Anywho, this blathering is intended to let you know that you definitely are NOT looking at the final design of this site.  I have standards, and while they may be low and tasteless ... they ache.

Volume 9 Page 2

Wow, I didn't expect nearly as many people to visit the site over the weekend when I announced that I'd re-opened it, but I guess there are quite a few of you out there.  I hope that it wasn't just a temporary curiosity.
